Samir Meddeb

Samir Meddeb has an environmental background and is doctor at the Faculty of Orsay Paris XI since June 1986. He is the founder and former director of the Tunisian Observatory for Environment and Sustainable Development (OTEDD) and has great knowledge of environmental institutions in Tunisia, as well as of the major national and regional environmental and development challenges.

Samir Meddeb was part of the Tunisian public administration where he managed environmental projects and coordinated the work of the technical and of the national commission for sustainable development between 1992 and 2002. He was also director of the environmental department between 2002 and 2005. Samir Meddeb is now a university professor and an independent expert since 2005. He has large experience in evaluation of environmental policies and programmes. He worked with several international institutions such as the World Bank, the European Commission, the GTZ, UNPD and the DWS.
